"Everything is an influence, everything. Rather than focusing on subject matter I am more concerned with elements of exploration, risk, wisdom, process and chance. My work is a synthesis of my exposure to elements of the physical, spiritual, and material world. These components are then processed psychologically through the inner workings of my mind and translated into a visual form of paint via physical gesture . I consider a work successful when it achieves an arena of perpetual conversation, originating from a particular feeling of awe that differs for each piece. I'm not overly concerned with what the conversation is about, because it differs for each viewer, but rather a universal visual fluency accessible through thoughtful observation. For me the development of imagery is an evolving expression, and
why I have not settled on one particular genre of painting. Although my current body of work is visually diverse,
there is a strong creative correlation within several
groups of works."
